In August 2026, Vietnam’s National Innovation Center (NIC) and Thermo Fisher Scientific signed a memorandum of understanding to explore the development of a shared semiconductor and biomedical laboratory at NIC Hoa Lac. The proposed facility will provide companies, universities, startups, and research institutions with access to advanced research technologies and infrastructure.

The initiative reflects Vietnam’s efforts to strengthen research capacity and improve collaboration between academia and industry.
